Learning Integrity of M'bah Marijan

"Tiger stripes dead leaves, dead man left a good name." That piece of sound from the proverb. Mbah Maridjan! Who does not know its name. After the death of Merapi gatekeeper of this, many people rating given to it. Some people booed, some provide an assessment side, there is even a judge. But there we thought for a moment, the value of what is taught by Mbah Marijan to every leader today? Only words with deeds. Leadership called "Integrity"

Integrity' is not a foreign word in the field of leadership. This word is one word that should be an integral part of the life of a leader. This word was not a new term. If we search the Scriptures, both Old Testament books, and also the New Testament books with discussion of the word "Integrity." But the question is whether the meaning of this word, and what to do in life.

To refresh your common sense, what the word 'integrity' let's look at a dictionary. The word 'integrity', taken from foreign languages. Probably from the Dutch language, or English.So let's see how the explanation according to Webster's Third Internnational Dictionary (1981), Oxford Dictionary (1963), and An Bahasa-Indonesian Dictionary, by John M. Echols and Hassan Shadily (1975). In dictionaries it is explained that the 'integrity' means 'wholeness', the notion of 'whole', 'uprightness' and 'honesty', means 'sincerity' and 'honesty'. Also explained that the 'integrity' means 'an uncompromising adherance to a code of morals', which means dedication that is not  unshakable againts moral code '. In other words Integrity (Integrity) is to act consistently in accordance with the values and organizational policies and professional code of ethics, even in difficult circumstances to do this. In other words, "only words with deeds". Communicating goals, ideas and feelings openly, honestly and directly even in difficult negotiations with other parties.

Mbah Marijan has proven the value of ini. He is willing to be a care taker of Merapi. Let's Learn from Mbah Marijan.

What is Integrity?

Integrity are pole's that support the leadership. The only words with deeds that could generate power to influence attitudes and behavior of those they lead.

They have used the process of leadership to reach certain goals.

Leadership is not a science. So being a leader is an adventure because you can never be sure whether you will reach your goal -- at least this time. The touchdown drive may end in a fumble. The troop may have a bad weekend during the camporee. Or the city's citizens may not be convinced that the mayor's policies are right. So these leaders have to try again, using other methods. But they still use the same process the process of good leadership.

Leadership means responsibility. It's adventure and often fun, but it always means responsibility. The leader is the guy the others look to to get the job done. So don't think your job as a troop leader or a staff member will be just an honor. It's more than that. It means that the other Scouts expect you to take the responsibility of getting the job done. If you lead, they will do the job. If you don't, they may expect you to do the job all by yourself.

Mbah Marijan is the leader. He reflects the characteristics of leadership as outlined by Lewis P. Orans.

2006, when Merapi spewed lava, Maridjan choose to stay at his house, in Kinahrejo, Umbulharjo, Cangkringan, four kilometers from the summit of Merapi is smoldering. Before the events of the eruption of Mount Merapi (before 26th Oktober 2010), Mbah Marijan (based on the narrative her best friend which was broadcast in the event a razor), knowing that Merapi will erupt, and wedus trash (in local language) must pass through his home. But Mbah Marijan resolved will not be evacuated from the slopes of Merapi. Mbah Marijan proved himself capable of doing it.

This gives a direct impact to people who follow him. Based on the recognition of many witnesses, Mbah Marijan never forbade residents to evacuate the slopes of Mount Merapi, but instead encourage them to immediately evacuate. But the facts prove that after wedhus gembel swept Cangkringan, and when the rescue evacuate the victims of the disaster, many people who follow Mbah Marijan.


Does the same attitude we find in ourselves to each other?

B. Spiritual Life:

Proverbs 11:3 "The integrity of the upright shall guide them; But the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them."19:1  Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity Than he that is perverse in his lips and is a fool." 20:7  A righteous man that walketh in his integrity, Blessed are his children after him. 28:6  Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, Than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

Integrity is one component that must exist within every believer. This we can see in the words of wisdom that are written by the author of Proverbs. Integrity needed in the various lines of life. According to the views the author of Proverbs, it turns out all aspects of life are an integral part of spiritual life.

Integrity to help every believer to keep it running in the path of truth. "Proverbs 11:03." Its value is more expensive than the most expensive property, and make people become wise "Proverbs 19:01." When done with the faithful, not just the perpetrators who had promised the Lord, but her children would be called blessed. "Proverbs 20:07"

How to integrate the words with the attitude of behavior?

Formulating the arguments about the order of life is easy. Develop a good speech or writing good sermon, many people who are able to do so. But to make it happen, it takes great effort. During the formulations were not proven by the attitude, behavior that is formulated to live like before, everything is just "THEORY." Living in this world are not something theoretical, but real life. Don Galer said : “Integrity is what we do, what we say, and what we say we do”.  As a Christian,  the bible tell us : "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." (Mat 5:37). To understand this sentence, let's look to the object called a clock. When the clock does not show the proper time, many things would become chaotic. Simon Schrock tells at preparation of his book : "I think all of us would agreethat integrity is generally lacking today from government, business, and evenchurch leaders. It is also lacking from many children, parents, and workers." Regardless of our limitations as a human being, living with integrity should be a reality in the life of a Christian.

 

Belajar Integritas Dari M'bah Marijan

"Harimau mati meninggalkan belang, Manusia mati meninggalkan nama baik." itulah sepenggal bunyi dari peribahasa. Mbah Maridjan! Siapa yang tak kenal dengan namanya. Sepeninggal Mbah juru kunci Merapi ini, banyak penilaian diberikan orang terhadapnya. Ada orang yang mencemooh, ada yang memberikan penilaian miring, bahkan ada yang menghakiminya. Namun adakah kita berpikir sejenak, nilai apa yang diajarkan oleh Mbah Marijan kepada setiap pemimpin masa kini? "Satunya kata dengan perbuatan." Dalam kepemimpinan ini disebut dengan "Integritas"

Mbah marijan memang dikabarkan baru sholat. Mungkin yg dimaksd penulis ini, mbah marijan kan jg sering melakukan ritual dan memberi sesajen ke gunung. Di sinilah yang patut dipertanyakan. Dia mungkin islam (karena ke mesjid), namun dia juga memiliki kepercayaan lain karena mempercayai sesuatu kepada yang ‘gak jelas’. Saya pikir semua agama juga melarang untuk mempercayai selain kepada Tuhannya saja. Pilihan tidak banyak. Namun demikian dibalik ‘kelemahan’ tersebut, mbah marijan punya satu karakter yg pantas kita teladani . Bertanggung jawab dengan tugasnya. Walau bebrapa org anggap konyol dan bodoh. Namun saya  melihat dia bertanggung jawab dari apa yg dipecayainya."

Kata 'integritas' bukanlah kata yang asing dalam bidang kepemimpinan. Kata ini merupakan satu kata yang seharusnya menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari hidup seorang pemimpin. Kata ini ternyata bukanlah istilah yang baru. Kalau kita menyelidiki Alkitab, baik kitab-kitab perjanjian lama, dan juga Kitab-kitab Perjanjian Baru banyak membahas kata "Integritas."  Namun menjadi pertanyaan apakah arti kata ini, dan bagaimana menyikapinya dalam kehidupan.


Untuk menyegarkan pengertian bersama, apa arti kata 'integritas' mari kita melihat kamus. Kata 'integritas', diambil dari bahasa asing. Mungkin dari bahasa Belanda; atau dari bahasa Perancis. Katakanlah kata itu diambil dari bahasa Inggris.

Dengan kata lain Integritas (Integrity) adalah bertindak konsisten sesuai dengan nilai-nilai dan kebijakan organisasi serta kode etik profesi, walaupun dalam keadaan yang sulit untuk melakukan ini. Dengan kata lain, “satunya kata dengan perbuatan”. Mengkomunikasikan maksud, ide dan perasaan secara terbuka, jujur dan langsung sekalipun dalam negosiasi yang sulit dengan pihak lain.

Mbah Marijan telah membuktikan nilai ini. Dia rela menjadi seorang jurukunci. Mari Belajar dari si-Mbah Marijan.

Mbah Marijan adalah seorang  Pemimpin. Ia merefleksikan semua karakteristik yang harusnya dimiliki oleh seorang pemimpin seperti yang dijelaskan oleh Lewis P. Orans di atas. Contoh kasus adalah kepemimpinan Mbah Marijan. Sebelum peristiwa meletusnyaGunung Merapi, Mbah Marijan (berdasarkan penuturan sahabat karibnya yangdisiarkan dalam acara silet), mengetahui bahwa Merapi akan meletus, dan wedhusgembel (dalam bahasa setempat) pasti melewati rumahnya. Namun Mbah Marijanberketetapan hati tidak akan mengungsi dari lereng merapi. Mbah Marijanmembuktikan dirinya sanggup melakukannya. Dia adalah seorang pemimpin yangteguh dalam memegang kata-kata yang diucapkannya.

Hal ini memberikan dampak langsung kepada orang-orang yangmengikutinya. Berdasarkan pengakuan banyak saksi, Mbah Marijan tidak pernahmelarang penghuni lereng gunung merapi untuk mengungsi, tetapi malah menganjurkanmereka untuk segera mengungsi. Namun fakta membuktikan bahwa setelah Wedusgembel menyapu kampung Cangkringan tersebut, dan ketika tim SAR mengevakuasikorban bencana, banyak orang yang mengikuti Mbah Marijan.

Apakah sikap yang sama dapat kita temukan dalam diri kitamasing-masing?

Integritas dan kehidupan Spiritual 

Amsal 11:03 "Orang yang jujur dipimpin oleh ketulusannya, tetapi pengkhianat dirusak oleh kecurangannya." 19:01 "Lebih baik seorang miskin yang bersih kelakuannya dari pada seorang yang serong bibirnya lagi bebal." 20:07 A righteous man that walketh in his integrity, Blessed are his children after him." 28:6 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, Than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich..

Integritas adalah satu komponen yang harus ada dalam dirisetiap orang percaya. Hal ini dapat kita lihat pada kata-kata hikmat yangdituliskan oleh penulis kitab Amsal. Integritas dibutuhkan dalam berbagai lini kehidupan. Menurut padanganpenulis Amsal, ternyata seluruh aspek kehidupan adalah bagian yang tidakterpisahkan dari kehidupan rohani.

Integritas menolong setiap orang percaya untuk tetapberjalan dalam jalan kebenaran. "Amsal 11:03." Nilainya lebih mahaldari harta termahal, dan membuat orang menjadi berhikmat "Amsal19:01." Apabila dikerjakan dengan setia, bukan hanya pelakunya yangmengalami janji TUHAN, tetapi anak-anaknya pun akan disebut berbahagia."Amsal 20:07" 

Bagaimana mengintegrasikan antara perkataan dengan sikapperilaku?

Merumuskan dalil-dalil tentang tatanan kehidupan adalah halyang mudah. Menyusun satu pidato yang baik atau khotbah yang baik banyak orangyang mampu untuk melakukanya. Namun untuk merealisasikannya, dibutuhkan usahayang keras. Selama rumusan-rumusan itu belum dibuktikan dengan sikap, perilakuhidup seperti yang dirumuskan tadi, semuanya hanyalah "TEORI." Hidupdi dunia ini bukanlah sesuatu yang sifatnya teori, melainkan hidup yang nyata.  Don Galerberkata: " “Integrity is what we do, what we say, andwhat we say we do”". Sebagai seorang Kristen,Alkitab memberitahu kita: "Tapi mari katakanlah," Yajika ya,jika tidak, tidak apa lebih dari ini datang dari yang jahat. " (Mat 5:37).

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? 23.  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Realizing the importance of Why You Should Serve the Lord

Acts 26: 12-23

In the book "The mission of the Crisis" issued by the Torch Mitra Indonesia, Jakarta 2003, p. 40-44, Good Surjantoro wrote in an article titled "Reasons to Serve God":

"There are various factors behind why a person who serves the Lord. But the most important factor underlying the true ministry is God's call. Factor God's call will make a person live to serve, not serve for life. Since the calls also, someone with real experience will grace of God in her life and then will make the love of God and neighbor as the basis for life and ministry. People who have the motivation of love for God and neighbor, which will be more resilient `` in the service. Paul is one example of someone who has God's call clear in his life. That's what makes life so extraordinary and his ministry in the hands of God and a blessing to many people.

If God calls, He knows who summoned him and for what. If God wants us to do something, He knows that we are able to do so by his grace. Our God is great God and He can do all things. He who set the universe, He who owns the earth and everything in it, the sea and all that dwell therein. We are the ones who are often small-minded and stunted, making as though God could not do anything about it. Pettiness and the smallness of faith that becomes a barrier for us so that we can not see the greatness of God over all His creation, including well over our lives. "

I. Realize, Assessment Services it is the Lord (v. 16).

Not because he meets the criteria of a servant of God, but God chose and set them to be His servants is because HE himself who took the initiative to do so. A similar thing happened with us in our time. Therefore, value choices and the determination of the LORD, who has menetapkanmu become his servants.

Christian ministry and kesakasian is a unity that can not be separated. In other words, so if we refer to as the housing ministry, the testimony is the content. Rev. Nathanael Channing, in his writings on the theme "Basic Instinct 1 - The Nature of Service" page one, quoting Luther as saying "Here I stand I can not do anything else, God help me". Nathanael asserted: "Services are:

"Response to the grace of God which has saved mankind in Jesus Christ, to surrender themselves as servants of God which is realized through the offering of the holy and righteous life, dedicated himself in bearing the cross of Christ to carry out the vision and mission of God in saving mankind"

Paul mentions the Lord Jesus called her goal is for him to be "servants and witnesses." Acts 26: 16. reads: "But now, get up and stand up. I've appeared to you to assign you a servant and witness of all things which you have seen from me and about what will I show to you later."

This passage teaches how close relationship between the ministry and witness. Services must be sourced from what is Paul seen from the Lord. This passage also teaches that the nature of the revelation of the Lord to show it is not something that character only when Paul was arrested a servant of his Lord. But the Lord will still show it to Paul. Relation to the context of the present is let every servant of the Lord based his ministry to God's revelation. Therefore, every servant of the LORD must have an intimate relationship with the owner of that ministry. In the Acts of the Apostles 26: 17-18, the apostle Paul tells of God's purpose to set a servant and witness it this way: "I will alienate you from this nation and from other nations. And I'm sending you to them, to open eyes them, so they turned away from the power of Satan to God, to them by their faith in me getting a part in what was determined for those who are sanctified. "

Arduous task instead? But we should imitate Paul. The Bible describes people who live in obedience to the commandment of the LORD. They are willing to pay the price for an observance, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. This verse explains the secret of experiencing spiritual growth that leads people to the power of the Lord Jesus who memerdekakannya perfectly.

What makes the service a growing Reinhard Bonke? Because he witnessed in his ministry of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
